Get to know us!

Welcome to The Hearing Center, audiology department of Medical Center Clinic, located in Pensacola, Florida. We have been proudly serving Pensacola for nearly 30 years, and our audiologists have over a combined 50 years of experience working with both children and adults to aid in hearing health. We strive to help our patients hear better through the use of hearing aids, mapping cochlear implants, counseling, and assistive listening devices.

Our Audiologists

Jennifer LaBorde, Au.D, CCC-A

Dr. Jennifer LaBorde is an audiologist who has been in practice since 1999. Originally from Lafayette, LA, she moved to Florida after graduating with her Masters in Communication Disorders from University of South Alabama and her Bachelor’s of Science in Communication Disorders from the University of Mississippi. Dr. LaBorde holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology and has been employed at the Medical Center Clinic since 2001; in addition, she also is moderately fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). While working, she obtained her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Florida in 2003. Since that time, she and her husband, Garrett, have had three children and have enjoyed becoming involved and established in the Pensacola community. Also of interest, Dr. LaBorde is a hearing aid user herself, and she enjoys sharing her own personal experiences with patients to help them grow and succeed as hearing aid users!

Jennifer LaBorde, Au.D, CCC-A

Dr. LaBorde is an audiologist who has been in practice since 1999. Dr. Christine Clements, Au.D., CCC-A

Dr. Christine Clements joined the Medical Center Clinic in 2016 and has been practicing audiology since 2002. Dr. Clements completed her undergraduate coursework at Florida State University, obtained a Master of Arts in Audiology from the University of Tennessee, and completed the Doctor of Audiology program through the University of Florida. Most recently she worked as a research assistant in the Applied Hearing Science Lab at Indiana University. Prior to this she worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs and with a large ENT practice in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Clements has experience working with children and adults in the diagnosis and treatment of auditory disorders. She enjoys working with patients and their families to help them find the best treatment plan for their hearing and communication needs. Dr. Clements is a native Floridian and enjoys spending time near the Gulf of Mexico.

Leah Lewis, Au.D, CCC-A

Dr. Leah Lewis completed her audiology doctoral externship at the The Hearing Center from 2015-2016 and rejoined our team in May 2018. Before returning to MCC, she practiced audiology at a large Ear, Nose, and Throat practice in Fresno, California. She completed her undergraduate and Doctor of Audiology coursework at the University of South Alabama and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology. Dr. Lewis has experience working with children and adults in the diagnosis and treatment of auditory disorders. She enjoys working with patients and their families to help them find the best treatment plan for their hearing and communication needs. Dr. Lewis is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys spending time exploring around the Gulf of Mexico with her husband and two rescue dogs.

Margaret Richards, Au.D, CCC-A

Originally from Mobile, AL, Dr. Margaret Richards graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Communication Disorders from Auburn University in 2010 and obtained her Doctorate of Audiology from the University of South Alabama in 2014; in addition, she holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology. She joined Medical Center Clinic as a doctoral extern at The Hearing Center in 2013 and went on to accept a full-time position after graduation. Her professional development interests are hearing conservation, protection, and rehabilitation, as well as in-ear monitoring solutions and acoustics. Margaret enjoys attending live music events, of course while wearing her custom hearing protection, and exploring Pensacola with her dog.

Originally from Mobile, AL, Margaret Richards graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Communication Disorders from Auburn University in 2010 and obtained her Doctorate of Audiology from the University of South Alabama in 2014. She joined the Medical Center Clinic as an extern at The Hearing Center in 2013 and went on to accept a full-time position after graduation. Her professional development interests are hearing conservation, protection, and rehabilitation, as well as in-ear monitoring solutions and acoustics. Margaret enjoys attending live music events, of course while wearing her custom hearing protection, and lives in Downtown Pensacola, which she enthusiastically explores while biking.

Mindy Stejskal, MCD, CCC-A

Mindy Stejskal joined the Medical Center Clinic as an audiologist in 2009. Prior to working for Medical Center Clinic, she practiced for 6 years in Alabama as an audiologist. Mindy received her Bachelor’s of Science in Communication Disorders and her Masters of Communication Disorders from Auburn University, and she holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology. Mindy, with her husband and 2 children, lives in Daphne, Alabama. When Mindy is not working or tending to her family, she enjoys working out and is an active member of her church and community. Mindy is also advancing her knowledge in the field of tinnitus and Zen therapy for patients suffering from tinnitus.

Liz Andersen, The Hearing Center’s clinical audiology assistant, has been employed with the Medical Center Clinic since 2009. She is originally from Orlando, Florida, and relocated to Pensacola after graduating from Florida State University with her Bachelor’s of Science in Communication Disorders and Science in 2008. She assists the audiologists with diagnostic testing, hearing aid repairs, and much more, and has also completed her certification to be a licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser. When out of the office, she loves spending time with her husband Niels and daughters Avery and Ashton.

Mehgan Cash, Administrative Assistant

Mehgan Cash serves as Administrative Assistant of The Hearing Center. Since 2012, she has been helping to coordinate appointments, organize events and seminars, troubleshoot hearing aids, track inventory, and happily build a spreadsheet database of hearing aid patients. Mehgan spends her extra time volunteering at the Pensacola Humane Society, playing with and walking dogs in need of homes. She also loves reading, running, and spending time laughing with her husband, Jared.

Liz Andersen, BS, HIS, Audiology Assistant

Derek Jones, MD

Derek Jones, MD, is board certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Jones received his medical degree from the University of Alabama, School of Medicine in Birmingham. He then went on to complete a six-year residency in the Department of Otolaryngology, at the University of Michigan. Dr. Jones chose to return to his hometown of Pensacola and has been in practice in the Department of ENT and Facial Plastic Surgery at the Medical Center Clinic since 1999. He and his family are active members of First United Methodist Church. His outside interests are centered on spending time with his busy family.

Mehgan Cash, Administrative Assistant

Adam Holdt, MD

Adam Holdt, MD, is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, and received his medical degree from University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed a five year otolaryngology residency at University of Colorado Hospital where he received extensive experience in all aspects of Ear, Nose, and Throat surgery including training in sinus related diseases, and the correlation of pulmonology and allergy disorders. Dr. Holdt also trained at Children’s Hospital Colorado where he experienced a range of both common and rare pediatric ENT disorders. His education background in biomedical engineering has developed his interest for medical technology and its benefits for his patients. Dr. Holdt’s sinus surgical suite is one of the top in the region with state-of-the-art and advanced equipment. Aside from his dedication in caring for his patients, Dr. Holdt enjoys traveling with his wife to new locales to experience the culture and cuisine.

Erica Nathan, Clinical Audiology Assistant

Erica Nathan serves as our clinical assistant to the audiologists. She joined our practice in 2018, but she has also been a patient here at The Hearing Center for over 18 years. Because Erica is a hearing aid user herself, she shares her own experiences to help others on their journey through hearing loss and hearing aids. She assists the audiologists with hearing aid repairs, walk-in times, and much more. She has also completed her certification to be a licensed Audiologist Assistant and is moderately fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). When out of the office, she loves spending time with her 2 children and at the beach, and her alone time includes going to the gym and shopping.

Mehgan spends her extra time training for and running marathons and volunteering at the Pensacola Humane Society, playing with and walking dogs in need of homes. She also loves reading and spending time laughing with her husband, Jared, and their pets.
